Jammu/Poonch : World TB Day Celebrated in Aspirational Block Mankote with Strong Community Participation.

World TB Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in Aspirational Block Mankote under the able guidance of the Worthy Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Shri Ashok Kumar Sharma.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch, Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan, with active support from the District Tuberculosis Officer (DTO) Poonch, Dr. Gazala, and ABP Fellow, Ajaz Ahmed.
The event witnessed active participation from the Medical Team, NTEP Team, ICDS Department, Education Department, NRLM Team, ASHA Workers of Sector Mankote, and respected members of the local community, reflecting strong inter-departmental coordination and grassroots engagement.
A TB Awareness Rally was organized from PHC Mankote to Bus Stand Mankote to spread awareness among the general public regarding prevention, early detection, and treatment of tuberculosis.
The Medical Team included Dr. Sajid Mujtaba Khan (SMO Mankote), Dr. Rabnawaz Khan, Fareed Ahmed (Pharmacist), Mumtaz Hussain Shah (Pharmacist), Mohd Yasin (HE), Imtiaz Ahmed (Pharmacist), Jarnail Singh (Pharmacist), and Mohd Jangir (Lab Technician).
The NTEP Team comprised Mohd Shakoor (STS) and Vinod Kumar Anand (STLS).
The programme was also graced by the presence of Ex-Sarpanch Azhar Naseem Khan (Chajilla) and Mohd Shafi (Chajilla Lower).
The celebration focused on raising awareness about tuberculosis, promoting early detection, and encouraging community participation towards achieving a TB-Free Mankote under Sampoornata Abhiyan 2.0.
Various activities, including awareness sessions, screening camps, and public outreach programmes, were conducted to educate the community about the prevention and treatment of TB.
