NSS Volunteers of SG Government Degree College Doongi under the esteemed guidance of the Worthy Principal, Prof.(Dr)Chanchal Angral organized a Cleanliness Drive, including the cleaning of a natural spring, at Village Jatote, Doongi today on 10 March 2026, as a part of the annual umbrella campaign “Jal Mahotsav” under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) from 8th to 22nd March, 2026 ensuring Jal Bhagidari .
programme aimed to create awareness among the masses regarding cleanliness, water conservation, environmental protection and sustainability.
During the programme, teachers and students of the college actively participated in the cleanliness drive and carried out the cleaning of a natural spring in the village.
The participants cleaned the surrounding area of the spring and removed waste materials to restore its natural condition.
They also interacted with local residents and highlighted the importance of maintaining cleanliness around natural water sources and conserving water resources.
The programme was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Pratima Bhushan, Dr. Mohammed Fareed and Dr Nishu Sharma who guided and motivated the students to actively participate in the drive.
The faculty members and students worked together to clean the surrounding areas and spread awareness about hygiene, sanitation, and the significance of protecting natural water bodies.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, reflecting the college’s commitment to community engagement and environmental responsibility.
The programme concluded with an appeal to all participants to continue promoting the values of cleanliness, water conservation, and environmental sustainability in society.
