JAMMU/RAJOURI : Mega Medical Camp Organized Near LoC in Mandi Under Directions of MLA Poonch-Haveli.

A comprehensive Mega Medical Camp was organized on Tuesday at Panchayat Ghar Mandhar (Community Centre) in the border area of Health Block Mandi, near the Line of Control (LoC), under the directions of MLA Poonch-Haveli, Ajaz Ahmed Jan.

The camp was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch, and Dr. Rayaz Jan, Block Medical Officer (BMO) Mandi, with the objective of providing quality healthcare services to residents living in remote and border areas.

A large number of people from Mandhar and adjoining villages participated in the camp and availed various free healthcare facilities. The medical teams provided comprehensive general health check-ups, screening for Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs), Tuberculosis (TB) screening, haemoglobin (Hb) testing, and free blood investigations.

Essential medicines were also distributed free of cost among the beneficiaries.

As part of the nationwide Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, intensive awareness sessions were conducted to educate the public about the harmful effects of drug abuse and the importance of leading a healthy and addiction-free life.

During the camp, healthcare professionals also sensitized the public on preventive healthcare practices, personal and environmental hygiene, and the importance of regular medical screenings for early detection and management of diseases.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan said that the District Health Administration is committed to ensuring accessible and equitable healthcare services for every citizen, particularly those residing in far-flung and border areas. He reiterated that such outreach programmes will continue in line with the government's vision of strengthening healthcare delivery at the grassroots level.

The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the health department and the local administration for organizing the camp and bringing specialized healthcare services to their doorstep. The initiative was widely appreciated as a significant step towards improving health awareness and medical accessibility in the sensitive border region.
