Inter-Semester Quiz Competition on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Organized at S. G. Government Degree College, Doongi

S. G. Government Degree College, Doongi, under the able leadership of the worthy Principal Dr. Chanchal Angral, organized an Inter-Semester Quiz Competition on 05 February 2026 on the topic “Sardar Patel: The man behind the unity” in the college premises to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India.

The event was organized with the objective of promoting awareness about national leaders, fostering intellectual curiosity, and inculcating values of unity, discipline, and leadership among students.

The quiz competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across different semesters. Three teams participated in the competition: Team A (Semester II), Team B (Semester IV), and Team C (Semester VI). After a series of competitive and knowledge-enriching rounds based on the life, ideals, and nation-building contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Team A (Semester II) secured the First Position, Team B (Semester IV) bagged the Second Position, while Team C (Semester VI) secured the Third Position.

The event aimed to highlight the pivotal role played by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in India’s freedom struggle and the integration of princely states, while simultaneously encouraging teamwork, critical thinking, and academic excellence among students.

In her address, Principal Dr. Chanchal Angral emphasized the relevance of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s vision in contemporary India and underlined the importance of such academic activities in shaping informed, disciplined, and responsible citizens. She appreciated the enthusiasm and participation of the students and congratulated the winning teams.

The programme was conducted successfully with the active involvement and encouragement of faculty members, Dr. Zahoor Ahmed, Dr. Mohammed Fareed (Department of Education), Dr. Nishu Sharma (Department of Hindi), Dr. Pratima Bhushan (Department of Environmental Science), Dr. Mohd Arshaq (Department of Urdu), Dr. Mohd Ikram (Department of Geography), Dr. Mukhtar Hussain (Department of Sociology), Dr. Shokit Hussain, Mr. Mohd Shafit, Mrs. Vidushi Kesar, and Mr. Satish Kumar.

Their collective efforts ensured smooth coordination and successful conduct of the competition.

Certificates of merit and appreciation were distributed among the participating teams in recognition of their performance and active involvement.

The programme concluded on an inspiring and intellectually enriching note, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to promoting academic excellence, national values, and holistic student development. The successful organization of the Inter-Semester Quiz Competition served as a fitting tribute to the enduring legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and his vision of a united and strong India.
