The Indian Army organised an Ex-Servicemen and Veterans meet at Tehsil Balakote, District Poonch on part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen the bond with the local community and reach out to ex-servicemen in the region.
The event was conducted under the aegis of the Ace of Spades Division as part of a continued outreach and welfare initiative aimed at honouring the invaluable sacrifices of those who have served the nation and promoting the spirit of camaraderie among serving and retired personnel.
The gathering of thirty seven ex-servicemen and veterans provided a valuable platform for interaction with Indian Army officials to discuss welfare schemes, share experiences and address grievances related to pension, healthcare and resettlement.
As a gesture of care towards the local community, the meet was followed by a comprehensive medical camp.
Indian Army doctors and healthcare professionals conducted consultations, diagnostic check-ups and distributed essential medicines to veterans, their families and civilians from nearby villages.
Special emphasis was laid on preventive healthcare, hygiene awareness and management of lifestyle diseases.
The initiative reaffirmed the Indian Army’s enduring commitment to the welfare of its veterans and served as a testament to the strong bond between the Indian Army and the people it serves.
The event concluded with light refreshments, symbolising unity, respect and gratitude for the selfless service of the veterans.
