RAJOURI : GDC Doongi Successfully Organised Poster Awareness Programme on Safer Internet Day.

S. G. Govt. Degree College, Doongi, under the able leadership of the worthy Principal Dr. Chanchal Angral, successfully organized a Poster Awareness Programme in the college premises on the occasion of Safer Internet Day.

The programme was organised with the objective of promoting safe, responsible, and ethical use of the Internet and digital technology, including emerging Artificial Intelligence tools, among students.

The programme was coordinated by Dr. Pratima Bhushan (Department of Environmental Science) with the active cooperation and encouragement of faculty members.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation of around 50 students from semester 2nd, 4th and 6th who prepared creative and informative posters on the theme “Smart Tech, Safe Choices Safe and Responsible Use of Internet & AI.”

The posters effectively highlighted important aspects of cyber safety, digital responsibility, online ethics, data privacy, and responsible use of digital platforms, thereby creating awareness among students about safe online behaviour and the ethical use of technology.

The programme aimed to sensitise students to digital risks and encourage the ethical, informed, and responsible use of technology in academic as well as personal life. The initiative was widely appreciated by the college administration and faculty members for its relevance and meaningful student engagement.

In her address, Principal Dr. Chanchal Angral emphasised the growing importance of digital literacy and cyber awareness in contemporary society and underlined the role of such awareness programmes in shaping responsible, informed, and disciplined digital citizens.

She appreciated the efforts of the organising faculty members and lauded the enthusiastic participation of the students.

The programme was conducted successfully with the active involvement and support of faculty members Dr. Zahoor Ahmed, Dr. Mohammed Fareed (Department of Education), Dr. Nishu Sharma (Department of Hindi), Dr. Mohd Arshaq (Department of Urdu), Dr. Mohd Ikram (Department of Geography), Dr. and Mukhtar Hussain (Department of Sociology). Their collective efforts ensured smooth coordination and the successful conduct of the programme.

The programme concluded on a positive and awareness-driven note, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to digital responsibility, cyber awareness, and holistic student development.
