Rajouri : Dr. Suresh Kumar Honoured at the 25th National Conference of Indian Society for Buddhist Studies

On the occasion of the 25th National Conference of the Indian Society for Buddhist Studies (ISBS), Dr. Suresh Kumar, Assistant Professor in the Department of Buddhist Studies and Head of the Department of Buddhist Tourism at Nava Nalanda Mahavihara, Nalanda, Bihar was honoured for his outstanding academic services and remarkable scholarly achievements.
The honour was conferred upon him through the presentation of a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of his long-standing contribution and academic excellence.
Dr. Suresh Kumar hails from a remote village of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir.
A true son of the soil, he has risen through dedication and perseverance, overcoming geographical and infrastructural challenges to achieve excellence in higher education and research. His recognition stands as a matter of pride not only for him but also for his native region.
It is noteworthy that Dr. Suresh Kumar has been actively engaged in the field of Buddhist Studies for the past 16 years at both national and international levels. Through his continuous involvement in research, teaching, and academic activities, he has significantly contributed to enriching various dimensions of Buddhist Studies.
Today, he is recognised as an emerging young scholar at the national level with a distinct academic identity.
Dr. Suresh Kumar has participated in more than 60 national and international seminars and conferences, presenting research papers on diverse aspects of Buddhist Studies. Nearly 30 of his research papers have been published in reputed national and international journals. In addition, he has edited two academic books and has authored an original work on Buddhist Ethics. The scholars and delegates present at the conference described this honour as a significant milestone in his academic career and extended their best wishes for his continued success and a bright future.
